A BREATHTAKING SUNSET - 1/27/2010

My son decided that he wanted our last stop on our way home tonight, to be Subway for a sandwich. We got out of the car and walked inside Subway. I looked out of the windows and the sky was so magnificent and full of birds, that I decided to go outside to snap some photos. The flock of birds kept flying around making picture taking so much fun. I am in awe of nature at its best.

SORRY OSCAR, YOU HAVE TO STAY INSIDE AGAIN TODAY

It's another rainy day and we cannot take a walk out back with you in your harness and leash. Maybe later in the week when the rain stops and it starts to dry up some, ok?

A Stormy Day in Northern California

I could tell there was something in our pool after our 60MPH gusts of wind and very heavy rain.
Yep, looks like a branch from our neighbors tree.
So glad today was our pool guys regular day.
How nice, a break in the storm and the SUN came out.
Oscar took a bath
and lounged in the SUN.
Unfortunately the SUN was short lived
and it began pouring once again bringing thunder and lightening this time and coming to an abrupt halt within a few minutes. I wonder what the storm will bring over the next few hours and days to come.

OSCAR IS SIMPLY ADORABLE

Sunday afternoon I was sitting at my computer in my robe and sweats when all of the sudden a bug from somewhere landed on my robe, maybe from the ceiling. I jumped up and went to the family room where Dan was watching Football. I took off my robe and let it drop on the carpet and moved away from it. Oscar decided that this was his new place to sleep and bath. Later when he got up to eat, Dan picked up my robe and put down my old robe for Oscar. He was thrilled to have a robe on the floor to sleep and bath on. I wonder what other things we will learn about our rescue cat.

MY PINEAPPLE SAGE BRINGS A WONDERFUL AROMA AND HUMMINGBIRDS TO MY BACKYARD

Last Spring I purchased a wonderful plant called a Pineapple Sage. When you rub a leaf between your fingers, it smells like fresh Pineapple. It finally started blossoming in November. Once this plant blossoms, hummingbirds come to get the nectar from each tubular blossom. I snapped a somewhat blurry photo of a hummingbird that arrived to get the nectar from many blossoms and then flew away. Today my Pineapple Sage is full of blossoms and smells wonderful. My friend in Texas also purchased a Pineapple Sage last year but it blossomed much earlier than mine. It may be the difference between her climate in Texas and mine in California. You can bake with the leaves and flowers, but I chose to leave it alone for the hummingbirds to enjoy. I hope you have the chance to get one of these beautiful plants.
