Zentangle Card

My good friend Carol at (This, That'n Tuther) sent me this beautiful card that she made. It is Zentangle, doodling. I love it so much and wanted to share it with you. She is so talented and creates so much more than cards. You can see some other things she makes (here). I call her the Energizer Bunny as she never stops creating or making so many beautiful and different things.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY

I watered my Pineapple Sage and let it get some sun before Tuesdays rain. It keeps blooming, so I let it keep growing. Not sure this is the way to take care of this plant, but it is doing really good.
Oscar loved sitting in the shade on the lawn and roaming and trying to go after the birds. We enjoyed the sunshine so much. What a nice Sunday it was.

HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY, OSCAR - April 11, 2010

Happy 7th Birthday, Oscar. Even though we have only had you since last September, it seems like we have had you forever. What a wonderful addition to our family you are. Love to you our furry friend. You are getting your own piece of Tilapia tonight, your favorite dinner to usually share with me.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL

I cannot believe I am one hour late to wish all a Happy Easter. My guys headed to the movies today and then home for a big lunch and we all took a nap. Sometimes holidays are a good time to just kick back. My husband cooked us a wonderful fried chicken dinner and I had a piece of a custard strawberry cake. I will be full for days.

SJU 37 Year High School Reunion - March 27, 2010

We had so much fun on Saturday at our 37 year High School Reunion. Hugs, laughter, stories, good food, lots of photos. I cannot wait to do this again.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES

I woke to a gloomy, cloudy and somewhat foggy morning. The weather guy got it wrong again. It is even cold here in Northern California. We are supposed to get sun this afternoon. I hope that warms us up. I hope you are all enjoying some nice Spring weather.

PINEAPPLE SAGE - CUT IT BACK OR LET IT GROW??

I love my Pineapple Sage but am not sure what to do to keep it growing healthy. I bought it last year around this time, and it was small with lots of green leaves. It bloomed in December through February bringing lots of hummingbirds. It has lost a lot of leaves and is blooming again. Do I cut it back or let it continue growing?

SPRING FORWARD FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH OSCAR

Every year they take an hour away in the Spring and every year they give us back an hour in the Fall. Are they totally insane. It takes forever for all of us to catch up, if we ever do. Is yawning contagious by photo because I cannot stop yawning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN

We had a nice dinner last night to celebrate Dan's "55" Birthday which is actually today, March 14. Left to right, David (hiding), Bill, Telle, myself, Dan and Donna went to Romano's Macaroni Grill, here in Elk Grove. Erik was unable to join us as he had to work.
After dinner Dan was given a small yummy chocolate cake with a lit candle in it and 6 forks to share it.
Three of the waitresses, including ours to the right in the above photo, gathered at the end of our table and sang "Happy Birthday" to Dan in Italian.
We came back to our house after wards to visit for a bit snapped a quick photo before Bill and Telle had to leave. What a fun time the 6 of us had celebrating Dan's Birthday.

OSCAR THROUGH OUR WINDOW

Kind of interesting taking a photo from outside our front window. I captured so many things including Oscar and me in our tv.

DAFFODILS

We shopped yesterday and nearly every store had Daffodils for sale. I bought two closed bunches and this morning they were almost totally open. I love the Spring and the flowers and of course the 70 degree weather we had here in Northern California yesterday. Hope you enjoyed your day as much as I did.

DOVE ON OUR FENCE

This morning the birds were chirping and flying around in our backyard. This dove was sitting on our fence as they do very often.

PLANT FROM MY MOM'S NEIGHBOR - DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THIS PLANT?

Yesterday I planted this plant that my Mom's neighbor pulled out of his yard and gave to me on Saturday. He does not speak clear English, so I am not sure what this is. He has lots of cactus and exotic succulent plants in his yard and they reproduce, as this one will and flower.

DUCKS, CRANES, WOW WHAT A DAY OF BIRDS

I wish I could have somehow captured the noise that the ducks were making as they flew above us this morning. I know you cannot tell they are ducks, but they were. When you click on my photo you can see spots in the sky. What a site.

Dan "look, do you want to stop?", Darlene "yes". Two beautiful cranes just hanging out as we were driving home from the store today. Spring is in the air.

MOM'S "78" BIRTHDAY

We had such a nice drive into the city to celebrate my Mom's Birthday.
I love San Francisco.
We arrived at Mom's and started taking photos. Mom and Dan on Mom's deck.

Mom and me, then off to lunch at the Garden Club in South San Francisco where we met up with Elaine and Bruce to celebrate. After eating our lunch, Mom was given a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and whipped cream and a lit candle to wish her Happy Birthday. We all sang Happy Birthday to her. What a nice Birthday Celebration.
After lunch it was back to Mom's without Bruce who had to work. Elaine, Dan and Mom

My sister, Elaine, bought the most delicious cake for Mom's Birthday from Lunardi's in San Bruno called Burnt Almond.
We met Mom's next door neighbor who bought the family home of long time next door neighbors. He has made some changes and wanted to share what he has done. He gave me one of his beautiful cactus plants, right out of his ground to take home and plant in our yard.
I am so glad that we live close enough to do day trips to Mom's house and to celebrate with her.

A HOLE IN THE SKY

There was a hole in the sky after the rain and rainbow were gone.

After today's downpour I crossed our street to photograph this rainbow. It was larger than I could get in one picture.

MOM'S BIRTHDAY

Tomorrow is my Mom's "78" birthday, so I bought her African Violets. This has always been her favorite plant. I remember one sitting in our kitchen window when we were young. Great memories.

DAFFODILS

Spring is in the air. I bought this bunch of Daffodils yesterday and today most were open. So beautiful. I love this time of the year.

ANOTHER GREAT SUNSET

I looked out our front window and saw reddish orange in the sky. I grabbed my camera, took a photo and went to our backyard and tried to get a better photo of an almost gone sunset. I am in awe of how beautiful the sky can look. Wish I had a better view, but will settle for what I can get.
