CUTE AND COLORFUL

I was told that I can bring things to brighten up my room
while I spend time in the hospital to have some testing done.
I picked up this colorful, cute little guy on a short venture out last weekend.
This weekend I hope to get out to find a few more things to bring.
I get to bring my Laptop, so I can keep in contact with friends and family,
and follow my favorite Blogs.

and had a few problems, but a lot of fun

We got through the 100 plus degree temps over the weekend,
now I can enjoy our nice cool house this morning.

DAN AND LISA'S FAMILY VISIT - 6/17/2010

Dan, Lisa and their 4 kids arrived after a long drive.
The tv was put on to watch the Lakers game.
The older boys played some video games.
We ate Papa Murphy's Pizza.
Dan and Dan watched the game.

Lisa and I ended up outside with the kids in the pool.

Sarah is adorable and had fun with Lisa holding her so she could put her feet in.
The Lakers won and it was really loud in our house.
Back to camp for Lisa, Dan and the kids. I bet the kids slept all the way.
A fun evening. It was 7 years since we saw them. Hopefully sooner next time.

JACK - A FAMILY FRIEND IS GONE

Jack and his wife Jo met my parents when they were first married living two doors apart.
They were Uncle Jack and Aunt Jo as we grew up.
They had 2 daughters and my parents 3 daughters.
We spent a lot of time together.
They moved to the country, so we saw each other less, but as much as possible.
My Dad passed away in 1998.
Jack's wife, Jo passed away in 2002.
Twelve hours ago Jack's life came to an end,
June 15, 2010 at Noon
So glad we made the trip to see him and his daughters in October 2009.
This is the last photo I took of Jack.
He will be missed so much.
Rest in Peace.

MOTHER'S DAY DESSERT

Early this morning, my husband went to the store
to pick up my favorite dessert, Boston Cream Fresh
Strawberry cake. What a great husband to make today
so special for me.

Also for Mother's Day, my husband and son set up and surprised me with a Blu Ray player that plays DVD's and Netflix movies and shows. Since I have spent a bit of time in bed with severe Vertigo recently and continue to do so quite a bit, this is a great gift. Much love and thanks to my wonderful husband and son.

A DAY TO GET THINGS DONE

Today I got things started for our Elementary School Summer Gathering. It was so much fun last year, that we decided to do it again this year.

I posted photos to my High School Blog from our reunion a month ago. I finally got past being so sick and wrapped it up. All Classmates can view the photos now. A big thank you to my good friend, Carol for telling me of a short cut to post my photos. It saved me a ton of time. I feel so good getting so much done today. I even got some laundry done.

Hope you all had a good weekend. It was 80 degrees here in CA today. Gotta love this weather, not the wind though.

Zentangle Card

My good friend Carol at (This, That'n Tuther) sent me this beautiful card that she made. It is Zentangle, doodling. I love it so much and wanted to share it with you. She is so talented and creates so much more than cards. You can see some other things she makes (here). I call her the Energizer Bunny as she never stops creating or making so many beautiful and different things.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY

I watered my Pineapple Sage and let it get some sun before Tuesdays rain. It keeps blooming, so I let it keep growing. Not sure this is the way to take care of this plant, but it is doing really good.
Oscar loved sitting in the shade on the lawn and roaming and trying to go after the birds. We enjoyed the sunshine so much. What a nice Sunday it was.

Happy 7th Birthday, Oscar. Even though we have only had you since last September, it seems like we have had you forever. What a wonderful addition to our family you are. Love to you our furry friend. You are getting your own piece of Tilapia tonight, your favorite dinner to usually share with me.
